Every ten dollars ($10) you donate online gives you one chance to win a monthly raffle for a hand-crafted wine-bottle stopper or envelope opener, made by clients in our ArtWorks art therapy program.
Raffles are held at the end of each month with winners notified within one week.

Endowment Donations
Community Residences maintains an affiliated Foundation governed by Trustees whose sole responsibility is to maintain, grow, and appropriately use income from CR’s endowment. The investment and distribution of funds is governed by an agency investment policy as well as by federal law and regulations.
The endowment’s purpose is to generate income for Community Residences’ ‘Quality of Life' program. It is the policy of the Foundation to spend only a portion of endowment income and to leave all original principal invested. The ‘Quality of Life’ program funds otherwise unfunded critical needs such as:
- psychiatric and dental care
- prescription costs
- hospice care
It also enables therapeutic day and recreational programs such as:
- art and horticultural therapy
- horseback-riding therapy
- exercise routines
- community-engagement outings and activities.
Finally, income from the endowment allows us to make improvements to residences and consumer rooms so they truly feel like home.
Donations to the endowment can be offered through any of the mechanisms described on the Donations page. Planned gifts, ongoing pledges, and one-time offerings of stock or cash are welcome. Donations can be made in memory or in honor of a loved one, or in thanksgiving for a special event or blessing. Donations can also be specified for a particular CR program or residence, or they can be given for CR’s overall mission.

Stock Donations
Donating appreciated securities to CR that have been held for more than one year enables a donor to:
- Avoid capital gains tax
- Achieve a full fair market value tax deduction
- Make a larger gift than might have otherwise been possible
Donations of stock can be specified for the endowment, a particular CR residence/program, or for CR’s general operations.
CAUTION: Securities must be placed in Community Residences’ name prior to being sold or you will be responsible for paying the capital gains tax!

Real Estate Donations
Community Residences actively considers gifts of real estate which can either directly benefit our consumers and programs or which can be sold to support our mission and operations or our endowment.
We are particularly interested in vacation properties which could benefit our consumers year-round or seasonally.
Consult with your tax advisor regarding the substantial tax and estate benefits that may be possible through the gift of real estate to Community Residences.

Community Residences offers Cause Marketing sponsorships which provide an unparalleled opportunity to benefit from the positive publicity surrounding corporate good citizenship.
