Mental Health Services Overview
We welcome the opportunity to work with you and your loved one(s) in order to find the right match between an individual’s needs and available services, whether those services are provided by Community Residences or whether we are able to refer you to other qualified providers.
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Residential Programs: Community Residences operates several mental health residential programs in Arlington County Virginia that are open only to residents of Arlington County. The programs span a continuum of housing options from the least restrictive residential settings that are transitional in nature to supportive assisted living facilities for individuals with mental health diagnoses who require more intensive assistance. Our philosophy is to provide a normalizing, home-like environment where we assist consumers in learning skills that promote community tenure and integration, better health management and opportunities to fully engage in their recovery process. Varying levels of care are provided depending upon the intensity of need and include supportive services, coordination of medical needs, therapeutic services, nursing care and assistance with daily structure. Referrals to any of CR's mental health residential programs must be made by the consumer's Arlington County Behavioral Healthcare Case Manager.
Community Support Services: Community Residences provides recovery-oriented community support services to individuals with serious mental illness who need support to live as independently as possible in their community. These services focus on approaches that enable an individual to experience their full potential through individual recovery. Support staff assist with daily and social skill development, health management, financial management, housing assistance and personal goal-setting.
Case Management Services: Community Residences offers case management services to adults who have been diagnosed with serious and persistent mental health disorders. CR provides Case Management that builds upon each individual's strengths and that is comprehensive, flexible and mobile. Assistance is provided with accessing private, local, state, and federal resources and entitlements.
Arlington ArtWorks: Arlington ArtWorks, a Community Residences program, provides a structured setting to afford individuals with mental illness the opportunity to learn new skills and expand their creative talents through various art media. For more information, click here.
